Tokyo

by Zainab Ashadu

I attended my brother's wedding recently in Tokyo and was blown away by my experience of Tokyo. I'd watched Sophia Coppola's Lost in Translation but assumed the portrayal of Jet lag was done for dramatic effect! I walked around the city positively somnambulant, it's a wonder I found my way around at all.

But find my way round I did, and a wonderful city it is. I love the obsession with cleanliness too.

Enjoy these images.

Outside the Opera in Ginza, I became obsessed with the idea of creating backpacks inspired by the Obi. Watch this space!

An evening spent at the traditional hot springs went some way to making me feel a little bit human again. Didn't want to leave.

At the Tea House for the New Leaves Festival. Green tea at its utmost best, and after 5 floors of tea tasting I was high as a kite :)
